ABOUT ME

Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Janiece made her theatrical debut at age 8 playing the iconic one-feathered bird Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical Jr. From that moment on, she has enjoyed sharing entertaining, uplifting, thought-provoking, and impactful stories as an actor, singer, and dancer. Her favorite productions include Fabulation (Undine), Phantom of the Opera (Meg Giry), and Chicago (Velma Kelly).

Janiece is a talented performer who has received recognition for her work. Awards include the KCACTF Marvin Simms Diversity Award and an honoree for the Orlando Theater Best of 2022 Leading Actor in a Comedy. Janiece received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre with a Dance Minor from the University of Central Florida. Currently, she is touring with the Virginia Repertory Theater in their productions of Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad (Harriet Tubman) and Have You Filled A Bucket Today? the Musical (Mimi).

Aside from performing, Janiece has aspirations of becoming a director. Her objective is to challenge traditional ideas and introduce fresh perspectives to captivate audiences. It is her life goal to support and empower young black storytellers in the theater by providing them with educational, financial, and literary resources to help develop their craft.

She greatly appreciates and embraces the purpose God has instilled in her life. Through His wisdom, creativity, and faithfulness, she aims to inspire positive change through her artistry, fostering an environment that promotes honesty and transparency among individuals.
